"Any anatomist who has made the development and growth of the embryo “a subject of special study,” can tell, without much brain-work, what daily experience and the evidence of his own eyes show him, viz., that up to a certain period, the human embryo is facsimile of a young batrachian in its first remove from the spawn — tadpole.

But no physiologist or anatomist seems to have had the idea of applying to the development of the human being — from the first instant of its physical appearance as a germ to its ultimate formation and birth — the Pythagorean esoteric doctrine of metempsychosis, so erroneously interpreted by critics. The meaning of the axiom: “A stone becomes a plant; a plant, a beast; a beast, a man, etc.” was mentioned in another place in relation to the spiritual and physical evolution of men on this Earth.

In the present age, the physical embryo is a plant, a reptile, an animal, before it finally becomes man, evolving within himself his own ethereal counterpart, in his turn. In the beginning it was that counterpart (astral man) which, being senseless, got entangled in the meshes of matter.

The point most insisted upon by the Evolutionists is that, “The history of the embryo is an epitome of that of the race.” That “every organism, in its development from the egg, runs through a series of forms, through which, in like succession, its ancestors have passed in the long course of Earth’s history.* The history of the embryo . . . . is a picture in little, and outline of that of the race. This conception forms the gist of our fundamental biogenetic law, which we are obliged to place at the head of the study of the fundamental law of organic development.

At the end of three or four weeks the ovum has assumed a plant-like appearance, one extremity having become spheroidal and the other tapering like a carrot. Upon dissection it is found to be composed, like an onion, of very delicate laminae or coats, enclosing a liquid. The laminae approach each other at the lower end, and the embryo hangs from the root of the umbilicus almost like the fruit from the bough. The stone has now become changed, by “metempsychosis,” into a plant. Then the embryonic creature begins to shoot out, from the inside outward, its limbs, and develops its features. The eyes are visible as two black dots; the ears, nose, and mouth form depressions, like the points of a pineapple, before they begin to project. The embryo develops into an animal-like foetus — the shape of a tadpole — and, like an amphibious reptile, lives in water and develops from it. Its Monad has not yet become either human or immortal, for the Kabalists tell us that this only occurs at the “fourth hour.” One by one the foetus assumes the characteristics of the human being, the first flutter of the immortal breath passes through its being; it moves; and the divine essence settles in the infant frame, which it will inhabit until the moment of physical death, when man becomes a spirit. This mysterious process of a nine-months’ formation, the Kabalists call the completion of the “individual cycle of evolution.”

The Doctrine teaches that, in order to become a divine, fully conscious god, — aye, even the highest — the Spiritual primeval INTELLIGENCES must pass through the human stage. And when we say human, this does not apply merely to our terrestrial humanity, but to the mortals that inhabit any world, i.e., to those Intelligences that have reached the appropriate equilibrium between matter and spirit, as we have now, since the middle point of the Fourth Root Race of the Fourth Round was passed. Each Entity must have won for itself the right of becoming divine, through self-experience. The “fiery Wind” is the incandescent Cosmic dust which only follows magnetically, as the iron filings follow the magnet, the directing thought of the “Creative Forces.” Yet, this cosmic dust is something more; for every atom in the Universe has the potentiality of self-consciousness in it, and is, like the Monads of Leibnitz, a Universe in itself, and for itself. It is an atom and an angel.

Man is the measure of all things - Protagoras

Humans are Intelligently Designed according to the cosmic measure. We are created in the image of God. We are the yardstick for a cosmos.
That would mean we are a fractal of god and will become a god. Randall presumes we are in the middle. There is as much below as above us. Perhaps, but as above so below can be confirmed regardless of our positioning.
And so of the Zodiac. As our acquaintance, through devotion and endeavor, with the journey of our own sun through our own human zodiac grows better, we will learn the meaning of the great pilgrimage of the earthly luminary. For it is impossible in this study to learn a little of ourselves without knowing more of the great system of which we are a copy.

Mathematical Exactitude

"In involution the Reality functioning through a Divine centre becomes progressively involved in manifestation and the free and unlimited consciousness becomes more and more constricted and limited. In evolution of the human soul the consciousness imprisoned within the personality is progressively released from these limitations and expands, step by step, into that original unfettered state from which it had descended. Is there any limit to the expansion of consciousness and the number of vehicles through which it finds expression in the cosmos? Looking at the problem from the physical point of view we find on the basis of facts gathered by modern astronomers that the cosmos is not only unlimited but that the existence of innumerable nebulae in space shows that countless solar systems are in the process of being formed all the time. So there will be no dearth of vehicles when the Monads who are evolving as human beings at present, will in the far distant future become Solar Logoi and need solar systems for their expression. As regards the expansion of consciousness, again, there seems to be no limit to such expansion. We come down from the Unmanifest, and after passing through all the stages of evolution and unfoldment again disappear into the Unmanifest, thus apparently completing a full cycle."
