The Lords house is actually the mind or brain and here we have a specific reference to the Gates of the Brain.

And how are you protected? By reaching a higher state of consciousness! You do that by opening your connection with God via the 3rd eye.

When Jacob became Israel he opened his 3rd eye. So those with the eye open have not much to fear from man. They can still suffer from natural disasters but man cannot harm them.
